Waw! - S4C Children's Science Show

Title Sequence, Character Design and Animation

The Project

When Welsh broadcaster S4C launched Waw! a high energy children’s science show designed to make big ideas fun, they needed visuals that could keep up with curiosity. We were brought on to design the full motion graphics package, blending playful storytelling with dynamic educational visuals to spark wonder for young viewers.

Our Role & Deliverables

We crafted the complete brand and broadcast identity for Waw!, starting with a high energy main title sequence and animated show logo. To keep the show moving, we built an in-show graphics package packed with clear explainer animations, custom lower thirds, and snappy transition stings. Everything was wrapped in a vibrant, punchy visual style featuring fluid 2D/3D motion graphics, bold colour palettes, and playful character and object animation.

The Challenge

Science can be abstract, but children’s television needs to be immediate, colourful, and tactile. The goal was to take complex scientific concepts from space exploration to chemical reactions and translate them into vibrant, easily digestible visual metaphors without losing the fun factor.

Craft & Creative Direction

We paired snappy motion design with rich textures and a vibrant color palette to keep young viewers hooked. By blending playful 2D character work with dynamic 3D elements, we created a flexible visual system that bridges the gap between entertainment and educational television.

"Bright visuals, snappy motion, and big curiosity crafted to cut through the noise."

The Result

A high impact visual identity that keeps kids hooked while making learning feel like play. The graphics gave Waw! a cohesive, modern look that seamlessly bridges the gap between entertainment and education.
